Admissions

Admissions to Rush Common are managed by Oxfordshire County Council, details of which can be found here.  You can find further information about our admissions here.

Complaints policy

On occasion, a parent may be unhappy with something that happens at school. Many issues can be resolved informally, without the need to invoke formal procedures. As a school we take all such concerns seriously and make every effort to resolve matters as quickly as possible.

However, there are times when complainants would like to raise their concerns formally. In these cases, the school’s formal procedure should be invoked. The policy can be found here.

Details of any arrangements for handling complaints about the support we provide for pupils with special educational needs (SEND) can be found in the SEND information report here.  Contact details for the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) can also be found within the report or on our main contact page here.

Relationships education policy

At Rush Common we use 'Jigsaw' as the basis for our PSHE (Personal, Social, Health Education) curriculum.  It begins in Reception, with children engaging in fun activities to develop their understanding of how to recognise and build positive relationships and the foundations for good physical and mental health.  As children move up through the school, the lesson delivery and content deepens and broadens, to include lessons on puberty and sex education in Key Stage 2.  Details of the curriculum and when various concepts are introduced can be found here.

PE and sport premium

PE & Sport Premium is funding provided to primary schools to enhance the provision of PE and sport.  You can view our annual report here.

Public sector equality duty

Details of how Rush Common complies with the Public Sector Equality Duty can be found in our Trust-wide Equalities Statement and school-specific Equality Objectives.  Both documents can be found on our Policies page.

Pupil premium

The pupil premium grant is funding to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils.  The grant also provides support for children and young people with parents in the regular armed forces.

Schools can also use this funding to support other pupils with identified needs, such as those who have or have had a social worker, or who act as a carer, or for whole class interventions which will also benefit non-disadvantaged pupils.  You can find annual reports detailing how our Pupil Premium funding is allocated here.

SEND

Children with SEND have learning difficulties or disabilities that make it harder for them to learn than most children of the same age. These children may need extra or different help or resources and equipment from that given to others.

Nicky Drew is our Pupil Support & Welfare Lead and SENCO.

You can view our SEND Annual Report and further information about the SEND Local Offer here, and our Trust SEND Policy and Accessibility Plan here.
